About Cavapoo

The origin of this breed dates back to the early 1950s, where the well-natured Cavalier King Charles Spaniel was crossbred with the hypoallergenic and low shedding, Poodle. Although Cavapoo Dog Breed may have originated in Australia, they are one of the most admired breeds in the US.

Cavoodle come in varieties of colors like – fawn, cream, gold, chocolate, chestnut, and even white patches on solid colors. Cavoodle have a dense, soft coat that can be wavy or curly. The hair length is medium and they do not shed much. But that doesn’t mean they need any less care. The slightest of negligence may cause a bunch of matted furs. It is not only painful but also makes this breed prone to skin infections. Regular brushing, at least twice a week is crucial to avoid it.

Although they are lively and fun, there are certain genetic diseases they are prone to, like – Congenital Heart Defect, Progressive Retinal Atrophy, and Luxuriating Patellas. Also, make sure their nails are regularly trimmed, ears are cleaned and dental hygiene is maintained as they are prone to severe dental infection.

Cavadoodle enjoy their human’s company and are best suited for small apartments. They are family dogs that generally get depressed when left alone and suffer from extreme separation anxiety. They can play with your kids all day long, as they are extremely energetic. However, their exercise requirement is moderate and will be covered by doing daily walks.

They are obedient, quiet, trainable, and highly intelligent. Try to avoid trainers and train them yourself. They tend to develop a close bond with their owners and seek to impress them. So constantly praising your furry friend will boost expected behavior.
